New Year Wishes to Foreign Friends Working in Gansu

Dear friends,
　　　Time stops for no one, and the seasons keep changing. As the traditional Chinese New Year is around the corner, we would like to extend our sincere greetings and best wishes to the foreign friends who have worked in all walks of life of Gansu and your family.
　　It was a remarkable year in 2020 in the history of China and the world. The COVID-19 pandemic is so raging worldwide on economic and social development that people’s lives, health and safety have been unprecedentedly challenged. Under the strong leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), the Gansu Provincial Party Committee and the People’s Government of Gansu Province, we are in the same boat with foreign friends to help each other overcome the trials of the COVID-19 epidemic.
　　As the goal of deepening the reform of talent system, we have implemented a series of policies such as Talents Service Card in Gansu to guarantee on the convenience of various talents to come to Gansu for innovation and development. Furthermore, it has improved the commendation and rewards system for foreigners in order to strengthen innovation and build up a positive guidance system in accordance with national and provincial rewards. We have created a favorable environment for the management of talent service, especially under the circumstances of regular epidemic prevention and control. The measures as Online Approval have provided foreigners’ work permits to China with efficient service to support overseas talents to return Gansu smoothly during the epidemic and to facilitate enterprises and institutions’ work resumption. We have actively created a pleasant environment for foreign friends. There are 8 Foreign Experts’ Book Houses in Lanzhou University and other institutions offering books about Chinese culture and international news. We have organized 29 foreign friends working in Gansu participated in activities such as the Science and Technology Week, and Foreigners Visiting Gansu and 2020 Forum on Belt and Road Beautiful Countryside facilitating foreign friends to integrate into Gansu and experience the charm of Gansu. These are various activities promoted by the Science and Technology of Gansu Province in accordance with the instructions of General Secretary of CPC Xi Jinping. “Assembling the best minds across the land.” Itdemonstrates Gansu’s sincerity and determination to attract international talents.
　　It is the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan (2021-2025) in 2021. Gansu Province is about to embark on a new journey to promote innovation-oriented development in the western region of China. It is the year of seizing new opportunities, meeting new challenges, and striving for high-quality development goals with sheer endeavor. We readily adapt to the new situation and new requirements of technological innovation and talent exchanges to cooperatively build the platforms to provide more scientific and technological projects, and attract more innovative talents to come to Gansu to apply the projects for mutual development.
